Elvis is coming to Weston this weekend and young singletons can get into the Valentine’s spirit with speed dating with a twist.

– Get into the rock ‘n’ roll spirit with an Elvis tribute act at the Workingmen’s Club, in Orchard Street, on Friday.

The performer will sing some of the King’s best songs like Jailhouse Rock, Blue Suede Shoes and Suspicious Minds from 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £10, include a hot dog and burger and are available from Rose on 07597 807008 or fundraising@birnbeckregenerationtrust.uk

– Weston Football Club will take on East Thurrock United at Woodspring Stadium, in Winterstoke Road, on Saturday.

The Weston team has had a positive season so far, sitting comfortably mid-table at eleventh, two places above the Essex side.

Kick off is at 3pm and entry is £3-20.

– Bride and grooms-to-be are invited to a wedding fair at the Winter Gardens in Royal Parade.

Planners, caterers, photographers and wedding dress designers will all be showcasing their work and answering questions from noon until 4pm on Sunday.

– Black Panther aired in cinemas this week and you can watch it this weekend at one of the town’s two cinemas.

The latest film to come from the Marvel Universe follows King T’Challa who returns home to Wakanda after the events of Captain America: Civil War.

The new king must face two enemies who conspire to bring down his kingdom, and he team up with a CIA agent and members of the Dora Milaje – an all-female special forces team – to prevent a world war.
