The Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the Somerset coast tonight (Sunday).

The warning will be in place for Weston-super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Uphill, Kewstoke and Kingston Seymour from 8.45pm tonight.

An agency spokesman said: “Low pressure will cause sea levels to be higher than forecasted in tide tables.

“There will be strong winds from the south easterly direction.”

The tide level will be 6.79m above sea level.
