MORE weather warnings have been sent out for the South West, asking people to be prepared for heavy rain which could result in further flooding.
The Environment Agency (EA) has warned communities that the wet weather is predicted to continue across the area this afternoon (Fri) and possibly overnight.
The Flood Forecasting Centre has also predicted thunderstorms this afternoon which could result in areas experiencing heavy rainfall.
Due to the unsettled nature of the storms, it is difficult to predict the exact locations that might be affected at this stage.
Further showers are predicted tomorrow (Sat), but not as heavy, with less risk of rain on Sunday.
People are warned not to drive or walk through flood water and the EA teams have been mobilised across the South West to check on flood defences, clear any river blockages and closely monitor river levels.
Those in flood risk areas should sign up to the EA’s free flood warning system by calling 0845 9881188 or visiting www.environment-agency.gov.uk/flood
