A CREAM tea and cake business which launched a year ago has already won its first award.

Leigh and Randa Abdullaah-Hucker launched their company Hullabaloos, which is based in Axbridge, in 2014, and it has now received a prestigious Taste Of The West highly-commended award for its box of cream teas.

Randa said: “I was really pleased to hear we’d won.

“Last year was a trial run to see how it was going to go, and it was so much busier than we anticipated.”

After launching the business last year, they were one of two winners of a Mercury competition to win a free stall at the Weston super Food Festival.

As well as cream teas, Hullabaloos sells a number of experimental scones, including Bakewell tart and cheddar cheese flavours, plus a selection of brownies, as well as home-made lemonade in a variety of different styles.
