A voluntary group which carries out improvements at Weston-super-Mare’s Grove Park is appealing for donations of green bags to help it continue its work.

Friends of Grove Park has already renovated the park’s rockery and held various community events in the park, at the end of High Street.

But the group’s secretary Anne Bunn says volunteers are struggling to continue their work because garden waste bags are in short supply.

She said: “We are sadly in the very frustrating situation whereby we are filling the bags far more rapidly than they can be emptied, and would be very grateful if people could provide us with any that are now surplus to their requirements.”

If anyone has any
spare bags, they can be dropped off next to the rockery in the park after 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
