Fundraisers can now sign up for one of Weston Hospicecare’s most popular events.

The Mendip Challenge is an annual walk across the Mendip Hills and participants can take on the 10, 20 or 30-mile route to raise funds for the charity.

Those who sign up for the 30-mile challenge are advised to undertake some training, but the shortest distance is perfect for families and dogs, and walkers can take a picnic to enjoy on the way.

Weston Hospicecare fundraiser Becky Fuller is walking the 10 miles with her daughter. She said: “The views across the Mendips are stunning, and it’s a really great atmosphere during the walk itself.

“Ten miles is quite an achievement for little legs, so I urge as many families as possible to sign up for the event and to encourage their children to ask friends and family for sponsorship.” To sign up call 01934 423900, or visit
