Lloyds Bank Big fundraising for Weston Hospicecare.

A FUNDRAISING event for Weston Hospicecare was held at Lloyds Bank in Weston High Street.

The bank has a large space in its foyer and on Friday volunteers from the hospice filled it with delicious cakes and treats.

Pam Wells, who worked as a customer service advisor at the bank for 36 years, organised the event in aid of the charity.

She said: “This time last year I was at the hospice because I wasn’t very well. They were so helpful to me and I wanted to do something for them in return.

“The day was fantastic.

“We had a lot of cakes for sale too.

“We had a wonderful response from the local community. We had 42 prizes donated from local businesses.”

The event raised £638.65 which will be doubled by Lloyds Bank.

The bank is now hoping more local charities will come forward and hold fundraising sessions in the space.

For more information pop into the branch or call branch manager Duncan Pike on 08453 000000.
