A Weston netball player who will represent England next month is appealing for donations to help fund the trip of a lifetime.

Tom Allen, aged 21, will travel to Australia for the sport’s world cup and will play for the national under 23s side.

He needs to raise £3000 to cover the various costs of the trip, which include flights, equipment and accommodation.

Tom, who is studying to be a PE teacher, got into playing indoor netball later in life despite having grown up around the sport.

He said: “It’s a massive honour to represent England in a national sport and I want to use this opportunity to break down the female-only stereotype.”
