THE funeral of a teenager found dead at her home in Weston last month will be held next week.
Weston College student Jasmine Griffiths was found at her home in Selwood Close on April 14.
A service will be held at St Peter’s Church in Baytree Road, Weston, at 2pm on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old’s uncle, Lindsay Griffiths, said: “She will always be in our hearts and our thoughts, she was such a bubbly, friendly and outgoing girl. Friends and family are welcome to come to the service and pay their respects.”
After her body was discovered, tributes poured in for the former Worle Community School pupil, who had been in her third year of studying hairdressing at Weston College.
More than 100 people gathered in Ashcombe Park on April 15 to set off paper lanterns in a night-time vigil. A Facebook group, called RIP Jasmine, featured tributes from dozens of her friends, who described her as ‘bubbly’ and ‘beautiful’, and ‘a big character loved by all’.
Both the college and the community school also paid tribute to her, with her former headteacher at Worle Peter Binding saying: “Jasmine was a loveable character and always had a ready smile.”
An inquest into her death has been opened and adjourned.
