The social committee who live in retirement accommodation in Worle raised £900 through a summer fair.

The group, who live at Fussells Court in Station Road, have been raising money for good causes for the past few years.

They pick charities which are either based in Weston, or mean something to the Fussells Court residents.

This year, they raised money for Parkinson’s UK, which supports people living with the condition.

Lin Karner, house manager, said: “A lot of businesses in Worle High Street were really generous and donated some raffle prizes.

“The group just keep going and raising money.

“It is all down to them, they are amazing.”

Since they started hosting fairs, the group’s fundraising totals have risen from £450 to £900.

The members hope to raise around £1,000 at a Christmas fair later this year.
