WHAT do a spaceman, Elvis and the Statue Of Liberty have in common?

They all made guest appearances at this year’s scarecrow trail in Banwell, which had a theme of ‘all things American’.

Despite a rocky start to the festivities when two of the scarecrows went missing, the event was a huge success with dozens of installations appearing around the village.

Alongside each scarecrow was a question, so villagers on the scarecrow trail could play a quiz while out on a stroll hunting for the next character.

On the Sunday the fire station and the bowling club were opened to the public as part of the trail.
