Banwell’s best gardeners turned out at the weekend to show off their creations at a spring show.

Daffodils, orchids and hellebores were on show in numbers as Banwell Gardening Club held its spring show at the village hall.

A wide range of top-quality exhibits were on show, as a month marred by snowfall did little to deter Banwell’s horticulturists.

Lyn Ralph was one of the big winners on the day, walking away with the Dorris Hammond Trophy for her beautiful collection of shrubs and flowers.

In addition to pretty plants, a range of delicious treats were served up including brilliant bakes by Steve and Jacki Parkinson.

Tina Bould also received praise for her beautiful acrylic painting of a river.

The gardening club will meet at the village hall, in Westfield Crescent, on April 26 at 7.30pm for a presentation on no-dig gardening by Stephanie Hafferty.
