PLANS to bring a giant wheel to Weston for five years could be given the go-ahead next month.

PLANS to bring a giant wheel to Weston for five years could be given the go-ahead next month.

The Weston Mercury revealed last month that the town looks set to get the looming attraction for the peak seasons.

North Somerset Council has signed an agreement for Great City Attractions to return to the resort to run the latest 40m-high attraction.

The company, which was also behind the wheel that was in town until October, wants to have the new feature in place from 2010-2015.

Proposals for the wheel are likely to go before the council's west area committee next month and could be given the green light.

The former Wheel of Weston left town early after thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused to the attraction.
