HUNDREDS of people packed on to Weston’s Grand Pier yesterday (Sun) for a massive Christmas carol event.

Four Weston churches joined together to organise the musical event, which featured a number of young local musicians and a host of well-known tunes.
Pier co-owner Michelle Michael shared a Bible reading at the service, which was a celebration of Christmas and also the opening of the pier. The event, hosted on stage by Richard Ellerington, of Holy Trinity Church, was beamed onto two giant screens and the music was pumped out across Weston and could be heard past the Tropicana.
