GIRL guides were given the chance to test their skills during a competition event.

It was held at Hangstones Pavilion in Stowey Road, Yatton, and the competition was split into two sections, for those aged above 13 and those below.

They were tested on first aid, their ability to pitch a tent and their map and compass skills.

There were also activities in knotting, craft making and the chance to take part in a scavenger hunt.

Teams gained points for how well they worked together and for completing the challenges.
