The identity of a 45-year-old woman killed in a crash on the M5 has been revealed by Avon and Somerset Constabulary.

Joanne Jennings, from Highbridge, was one of two victims of a fatal crash near junction 25 (Taunton) on September 13.

Rod Walsh, from Cheddar, also died in the same accident involving a lorry and multiple cars.

Joanna’s family paid tribute to her in a short statement last night (Friday).

She said: “Joanne was a loving mother, wife, sister, auntie and nanny.

“She was always filled with joy and happiness, laughing and smiling as she went about her day.

“She will be sadly missed by family and friends and has a place in many people’s hearts.”

A police investigation into the crash continues.

Last week Inspector Frazer Davey called on witnesses to come forward.

He said: “We are still keen to talk to those who were on the carriageway at the time of the collision who we haven’t yet spoken to.

“We know there were a significant number of people trying to exit the junction and we really need them to contact us so that we can understand exactly how this tragic incident happened.”

Anyone with information can contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 and should provide the call handler with the reference CI/174/18.
