AROUND 100 people visited Weston Hospicecare’s base in Uphill for the unveiling of its new-look building.

The hospice underwent a refurbishment after it was given a £547,691 grant from the Department for Health.

People attended the open afternoon last Friday and were given a guided tour of the new areas and met with staff and volunteers to find out more about the work that the hospice does.

Jennie Bishop, of the hospice, said: “It was great that so many of the local community were able to come - it was lovely to be able to show them what we had done and thank them for their patience.”

“We were also thrilled that a few of the original founders of the Hospice also came along and shared some of their stories of those first few months and years of planning and setting up the hospice.”
