Archant

Alfred James Collins-Tandy is the star of this week’s Humans of Weston article.

Alfred, of Moorland Road, sells artwork and has been drawing pictures for some 34 years.

He first realised he had a passion for drawing when he was a teenager and began selling his pieces after attending college for a couple of years.

Alfred said: “I charge 50p a time (for my artwork) – it is what people can afford, especially the kids. The kids love my work.

“I just want to sell my artwork. I could charge a lot more but I don’t want to.

“I have been drawing for 34 years on and off and have drawn 10,000 pictures.

“It doesn’t take long to draw a picture, maybe a couple of hours. I just love doing the drawings – I think I will be drawing for the rest of my life.

“The fact is, I want to people to know what I am doing and why I am doing it. I want to give people the pleasure of having a picture.”
