This week’s Humans of Weston story comes from Anne Louise Page, aged 45.

Anne, of Worle, is a full-time mum and foster carer. She has three children of her own and fosters two teenagers.

She said: “I want to give them (foster children) a nice environment to live in and a place where they will be able to progress in life and have opportunities that they wouldn’t have had before.

“My children are OK that we foster other children. It’s been a bit of a bumpy ride but they have gotten used to it.

“The advice I would give people who are looking to foster is to just do it. It is challenging but very rewarding.”

Anne is also taking part in a triathlon later this year to raise money for the In2Biking charity, which uses specially-adapted bikes to teach people with disabilites about cycling.

She said: “We haven’t set a target to raise – at the moment we just want to raise awareness of the charity.”
