This week’s Humans of Weston entry comes from businessman Ardene Stoneman.

Ardene owns the Better Kitchens firm, which is based on the Weston industrial estate. He moved to Weston aged 11 from Saltash with his family.

Ardene said there were numerous challenges attached to running his own business, but said seeing a happy customer at the end of a sale made everything worthwhile.

He said: “The hardest thing is learning as you go and not having much of an education. It is difficult and challenging but good fun.

“It sounds cheesy, but seeing the happy person at the end is the best thing about business. If they are happy I am happy.”

Ardene also gave the following advice to anyone thinking of setting up their own business: “I would say, just go for it and listen to the customer.”
