This week’s Humans of Weston features animal lover Chris Gilson.
Chris, aged 40, works for Avon and Somerset Constabulary but recently began studying for a degree in applied animal management.
She lives in Locking Castle with her husband and pet dog Milo, and is also hoping to adopt a wolf dog puppy.
Chris said: “I have always loved animals and wildlife but when I was younger there wasn’t any courses available, so after hitting a milestone age I am looking for a change.
“Ideally I would like to work in Africa on a nature reserve. I hope to get there one day. I am hoping to do some work experience in Africa next year. I have done lots of really cool work experience this year – I have worked with wolves and raccoons.
“My best moment to date is when I got to be up close to the white rhinos at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm (in Wraxall) and I hand-fed wolves in the UK with the Conservation Trust.”
