This week’s Humans of Weston instalment comes from pub manager Jamie Berryman, aged 26.

Jamie, who is originally from Chippenham in Wiltshire, moved to Weston to run the Walnut Tree pub in Winterstoke Road.

He said he hoped the pub’s managing brewery would install a kitchen on its premises so he could renew his love of cooking.

Jamie said: “I have been working in the pub trade for 13 years.

“I started working out in the kitchen and now I am a pub landlord.

“I was originally only doing six months but by the looks of it, I will be here for a year.

“I like it here and I have made a lot of friends.

“I would love the brewery to put a kitchen in so I can do food – I am a qualified chef. I would like to do basic pub food with a specials board with a mixture of everything.

“I like doing this and it’s nice to be around people.”
