Ofsted rating improves at preschool

PUBLISHED: 16:00 20 May 2018

A Hutton preschool is celebrating making improvements to its Ofsted rating.

Despite being judged to require improvement in 2017, Little Owls Preschool in Main Road was rated as good by the education watchdog following an inspection last month.

The report found each staff member has undergone training to improve teaching standards which has helped children make good progress.

It adds children form ‘strong attachments’ with their key person and gain ‘good communication and language skills.’

Manager Lisa Nash said: “We are delighted with our Ofsted rating.

“Our team has worked really hard which was highlighted by the lovely comments made by the Ofsted inspector.”

The report added to improve further staff need to encourage children to ‘assess potential risks’ and ‘negotiate and solve problems for themselves’.
