FULL of laughter and surprises, the pantomime Dick Whittington will be performed by Pill's J19 Drama Group later this month.

Co-founder of the group, Heidi Gedge, has teamed up with Clive Stitfall to write the show, which is loosely based on the traditional tale.

However, this show begins in a rundown launderette in Barry, then travels the seas to Morocco and ends up in good-old Pill-don town.

Along the way the characters encounter the evil Emperor Nastilous Raticus and his army, who are trying to conquer the village of Pill-don.

Audiences will have to wait and see if they are a match for Dick Whittington and his Latino cat, Antonio.

The show will be put on at St George's Church Hall in Church Road, Easton-in-Gordano, from January 28-30.

All evening performances will start at 7.30pm with a matinee on the Saturday at 2.30pm.

Tickets, priced £2.50-5, are available in Practically Everything in Pill Precinct.
