A Weston gymnastics club has been awarded £950 which will go towards installing a sprung-floor.

The sum was gifted to J21 Gymnastics, situated on Warne Road, by the Severn Valley division of Persimmon Homes as part of its community champions initiative.

The club gets more than 250 children and adult visitors a week.

Abbie Chetland, a spokesman for J21, said: “We’re over the moon with the donation made by Persimmon Homes.

“It’s the final part of the sum we need to buy a full-size spring floor that will radically improve the facilities we are able to provide.”
