On Monday a member of the public found the items, which included chains, a pearl necklace, earrings and bracelets beneath some shrubbery in a lay-by at Bleadon.

Among the items was a small photograph of a man (pictured). Police are hoping this may help locate the owner.

It is thought the bundle of goods may have been there for a long time.

Avon and Somerset police are appealing to anyone who may know who the man in the picture and to call 101.
