Weston and Worle students have completed the first edition of The Post newspaper.

The Post is produced out of Worle and Priory Community Schools’ thriving Jill Dando News Centres, in partnership with the schools’ charity of the year Weston Hospicecare, and has gone out to more than 10,000 people.

Students at the schools write and publish good news about their peers.

Worle School’s student editor Olivia Finch, aged 13, said: “We have really enjoyed producing The Post newspaper. It has taught us skills of writing news and interviewing and we have met some amazing people.”

Jill’s brother and radio presenter Nigel Dando and Mercury reporters have been part of the students’ training.

After studying at Worle School, Jill went on to work at the Mercury before becoming a well-known TV journalist.
