WORLE residents are urging others to take part in a new group – Big Worle Showbiz – which will develop performance skills of people of all ages.

The group has been formed by Stuart Laird and ex-head of Becket Primary School, Bob Gibbons, as part of the Big Worle Project.

The project has seen the Worle area – from St Mark’s Church to Priory Community School and Castle Batch Community Centre to New Bristol Road – gifted with £1million and the decision on how the cash should be spent will be made by the area’s residents.

While the project’s steering group discusses its next steps, member Stuart decided to spearhead the entertainment scheme and is now calling on people to attend its first meeting to put together a choir. There are no auditions and everyone is welcome to join in.

The first meeting of the Big Worle Choir will be held at Becket school in Tavistock Road at 7.30pm on June 6.

No experience is needed and Stuart said they will also be looking for dancers and musicians later on to compliment the choir’s activities.

For more information contact Stuart on 01934 511053 or email Stuartlaird949@btinternet.com
