THE last of the beach huts for this season have now been placed on Weston seafront.

On Thursday, the remaining four of the 24 huts, which have been auctioned on eBay, were installed.

This is the last batch to be placed on the promenade this year, although North Somerset Council has permission to install about 100 huts on the promenade and on the former bandstand opposite the SeaQuarium.

The final two tenants picked up their keys for the huts on Tuesday, with their leases expiring in February.

From then on, North Somerset Council will lease huts on a 12-month basis, although it has not been announced whether a price will be set or new auctions held.

Tenants are not able to stay in the huts overnight.
