Work on a new phase of the Locking Parklands development could soon begin, after a planning application was submitted.

St Modwen Homes has applied to North Somerset Council for full planning permission to build 31 homes and 316sq.m of commercial space in Cranwell Road as part of phase 3A of the project.

One to two-bedroom flats are proposed while there will be four two-bedroom houses and five with four or more. Plans for 73 car parking spaces and landscaping are also included in the application.

The first two phases so far include 250 homes and around 5,000sq.m of office space.

St Modwen also handed in a reserved matters application for 27 homes off Bowen Road and Farnborough Road.

A total of 1,450 homes are planned at Locking Parklands.

Comments can be left on the application through North Somerset’s planning portal until June 28.
