A WOMAN who lost two grandparents to cancer is organising a kart race to raise money for a Weston charity helping those with the disease.
Louisa Thomas, aged 30, of Locking Road is hoping to raise more than £500 through the event at Premier Leisure Raceway in Oldmixon Crescent, which has agreed to hold the event for free to raise funds for Weston Hospicecare.
The race will be held on May 28 at 7pm.
Mrs Thomas’ husband Graham, aged 36, is also organising a hand car wash and valeting event for charity behind the Texaco garage in Locking Road on May 25, starting at 9am.
He is hoping the event will raise another £100.
Mrs Thomas said: “My husband and I have both dealt with the charity in the past because my mother’s parents died of cancer as well as some of my husband’s family members.
“I have had a lot of dealing with the charity because my mum’s parents died of cancer.
“This is our way of saying thank you to a charity which has done so much for our family and others too.
