Mindfulness, meditation, homeopathy, music and vegetarian food are on the menu of a self-improvement project being run at a Weston venue this month.
Anna Southwell, who runs Loves Café in West Street, has planned a month of self-care events, entitled Loves Yourself January, to encourage people to turn over a new leaf in the new year.
Anna said: “This January we are focusing on slowing down, clearing your mind, going with the flow, and appreciating the things around us.
“We’ve put together a vegetarian menu, and a programme of self-care events that span the month, and a couple spilling into February, so you can find time for yourself, to refocus after a hectic festive season, and to learn some new stuff.
“Objectives are to be kind to yourself, grow self confidence, share knowledge, refuel and recharge.”
Tomorrow (Saturday) people of all ages can enjoy collage, colouring and cake from 3-5pm during an art afternoon.
Experts will offer information, trials and consultations in ThetaHealing, reflexology, homeopathy, make-up and skin care on Sunday from 3-6pm.
Musician Ben Ottewell is performing at the venue on January 19 at 7.30pm, with support from Alex Lipinski and food from the vegetarian supper club.
People can learn mindful drawing activities on January 20 at 3.30pm, with ThetaHealing meditation lessons at 5pm.
Detoxing is on the agenda for January 21 at 3pm when those looking to lead a healthier lifestyle can learn 10 easy ways to reduce toxins.
WordMustard Poetry Night takes place on January 25 at 7pm, with vegetarian suppers available.
Writer and swimmer Ella Foote will talk about her open water swimming challenge on January 26 and customers can enjoy a roast dinner and DJ performance at The Music Pantry Vegan Roast Club from 12-4pm on January 28.
Mindfulness coach Steve Mitchell is speaking at 7pm on January 28 and the events will finish with The Becky Walsh Show – ‘where personal development meets stand-up comedy’ – on February 22 at 7.30pm.
Most sessions are free. Tickets for paid-for events are available at www.lovesweston.co.uk/events
