Staff from an IT company embarked on an 25-mile cycle ride for one of their own.

Twenty-three workers from MacRail, a Weston company, hoped to raise £1,500 for Myeloma UK in support of their co-manager Pete Mitchell.

The team cycled around North Somerset on August 5 and have so far raised £355.

Pete, aged 55, is currently undergoing treatment for myeloma, which he was diagnosed with in April.

Myeloma UK is an organisation which informs and supports people affected by myeloma, a form of bone marrow cancer, and helps to improve treatment and standards of care through research, education and raising awareness.

Admin assistant Leah Taylor said: “Although we were a bit daunted by the thought of a 25-mile bike ride, we were all very excited to take part to help support our friend and colleague.”
