A PENSIONER from Burnham has died after he was involved in a three-vehicle crash.

The 71-year-old man was driving a Vauxhall Meriva along the A39 towards West Quantoxhead at about 9am when the car collided with a skip lorry travelling in the opposite direction on July 14.

The lorry tried to avoid the vehicle, causing it to drive into the roadside verge, where it hit an overhanging branch.

The branch then hit a third vehicle, a Ford transit van, which was also travelling from West Quantoxhead.

The pensioner was taken by air ambulance to Frenchay Hospital and died on Thursday.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident and asking anyone who has any information to contact 101.
