Man dies in Kewstoke crash

A man has died after a collision with a tree this morning (Thursday).

Police were called to the road traffic incident near The New Castle restaurant in Kewstoke Road at about 8am.

The South Western Ambulance Service also attended and confirmed that a 60-year-old man was unconscious at the scene where CPR was carried out by paramedics.

Rapid response cars, an ambulance, a critical care paramedic and two hazardous area response team vehicles all attended the incident, as well as Avon Fire and Rescue.

The road is closed both ways between Crooks Lane and Beach Road and traffic is very slow.
