POLICE have launched an appeal after a man attempted to rob a 20-year-old woman, showing her a blade.

The woman was walking in the lane from Pearce Drive towards Coronation Road, Highbridge, when a man walked towards her in the opposite direction.

The incident took place on June 2 at about 3pm.

A spokesman from Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “He was acting suspiciously looking into the hedges, then as they came together he stopped in front of her and held out his hand revealing a blade.

“Another female then entered the lane and the male ran off towards Pearce Drive.”

Anyone with information should contact police online or call 101 and quote crime reference number 57829/15.
