A WESTON model says ‘good things’ have come from her ‘nerve-wracking’ appearance on ITV dating show Take Me Out and she now wants to get married and have children.

Charlotte Edwards of Uphill has been in the modelling business since she was 14 and decided to apply for the show after the relationship with her fiancé of five months ended.

The 30-year-old, who models for Triumph underwear and has appeared on the shopping channel QVC, said: “I was engaged up until last year and we were together for three years.

“Since we broke up I did not find anyone I fancied and I just thought why not?”

The former Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College pupil is familiar with the show from modelling as one of the backlit silhouettes used on the show’s opening credits.

Charlotte also said the show has given her new-found confidence for one of her life’s ambitions.

She said: “It was really nerve-wracking being on the show and being in front of a live audience every night.

“When Paddy comes up to you, you always have to think of something to say about the guy which all the other girls haven’t said.

“But it is really fun, you get to hang out with all the girls at a hotel and get your hair and make up done every day.

“It’s been an amazing experience. I used to have a fear of doing things like this and I have always really wanted to be a presenter, but had this fear.

“But now I think it’s something I want to pursue; now I’m not scared to go for it.”

Although Charlotte was not allowede to reveal if she finds her Mr Right on the show – as it is still being screened every Saturday – she did admit that some positive changes came from her experience and now knows what she is looking for in a husband.

Charlotte, who is an aunt to two nieces and one nephew, said: “Some good things came from the show.

“All my friends in Weston are married and have babies.

“While on the show I met a lot of single girls who I can go out with, so it’s like I have a new social life and more confidence.

“But I want my own kids. When I meet the next boyfriend I want him to be husband material.”

Charlotte will appear on ITV’s Take Me Out tonight (Sat).
