HUNDREDS of adult members of Girlguiding Somerset North came together to mark the appointment of the new county commissioners.

Around 200 members attended the event at Chew Valley School on May 14 to celebrate the ‘momentous occasion’.

County commissioner Sue Maybury, who is responsible for an area which stretches from Weston to Bath, was in her role for the last five years and led the county through the organisation’s centenary celebrations.

Karen Rees and Sue Betts took over from Sue at the official ceremony and they will be in their new roles for the next five years.
