More than 400 keen cyclists were welcomed to Burnham on Saturday after a mammoth 205-mile ride from Kent.

Ben Steel was the first to arrive at the seafront after 12 hours and 50 minutes.

The annual Chase The Sun cross country event started from the Isle of Sheppey, in Kent, at 4.40am on Saturday.

Town centre manager Beverley Milner Simonds said: “It was great to see a lot of residents and cyclists out on a breezy evening to cheer home those who cycled 205 miles.

“I know how much of a benefit this is to local accomodation and businesses.”
