IF YOU were doing a spot of grocery shopping at the weekend you may have been surprised to have been greeted by an array of movie stars.

Pirates, snowmen, stormtroopers and other characters from Hollywood were at Asda in Weston throughout the day on July 18.

The event raised more than £400 as people put on their best fancy dress outfits and spent the day as their favourite movie heroes to raise money for the supermarket’s Tickled Pink campaign, which supports the Breast Cancer Campaign and Breast Cancer Care.

The scheme has been running for 17 years and helps support breast cancer research as well as support services for men and women who have been diagnosed with the disease.

More than £5,000 was also raised by the supermarket earlier this year during a sponsored walk.
