National racing championships strim into Somerset

A VILLAGE in Somerset will host two rounds of racing championships for the first time ever -lawnmower racing.
Rounds 10 and 11 of the British Lawnmower and Racing Association national championships will be held on September 8 and 9 in Old Coach Road, Lower Weare, near Axbridge.
Organisers Rotary Mendip Club say it is a chance to see the motorised garden equipment racing at amazing speeds.
There will also be sideshows and refreshments throughout each day, running from 11am-5pm.
