Dog lovers in Weston-super-Mare now have the opportunity to connect with fellow canine enthusiasts after a new Facebook group was set up.

The Bark Side of Weston-super-Mare was launched by dog fan Martin Slade and gives pet owners the chance to discuss the best dog-walking locations and places to take their four-legged friends during days out.

Mr Slade said the group has already attracted more than 1,000 members since launching only a few weeks ago and numbers were constantly increasing.

He told the Mercury: “Weston is renowned for its expansive beaches and numerous parks, many of which welcome dogs on leads or free running.

“The group has been a runaway success (and) the community already has a wealth of knowledge and expertise within its membership.”
