A TEDDY bears’ picnic marked the opening of a new facility for youngsters in Worle on Friday.

Milton and Old Worle Children’s Centre has a new garden and equipment, including a new shed that was purchased using a donation of £500 from Worle Village Club.

About 40 families turned up to the picnic at the Mendip Avenue site and Mendip Green First School joined them in the afternoon for some storytelling and cakes.

Activities throughout the day included face-painting, story time from Worle Library and Liz Ansell, pebble painting, a cake stall and a raffle.
