PORTISHEAD Chamber of Commerce will launch a whole host of new ideas and plans for 2010 at its AGM on January 20.

PORTISHEAD Chamber of Commerce will launch a whole host of new ideas and plans for 2010 at its AGM on January 20.

The chamber, which appears to be going from strength to strength, has three main objectives for the New Year: supporting existing businesses in the town, promoting Portishead as an ideal place to locate business and supporting the wider community.

Chamber spokesman Tony Walmsley said: "We want every business in Portishead to get on board.

"With so many new businesses moving to the area and a number of retail initiatives, we are expecting a dynamic year."

The organisation, which already holds networking opportunities such as business breakfasts and encouraging trade between Portishead businesses, is currently working on its shop locally campaign.

The AGM, which takes place at Portishead Primary School at 7pm, will provide the ideal opportunity for new members to sign up.

Mr Walmsley added: "The AGM is primarily for existing chamber members but we would encourage new members to come along, hear about the exciting plans we have for the coming year and join us to support business in Portishead
