A new music group will start in Weston in October.

A new group which uses music to improve people’s mental health and wellbeing will launch in Weston next month.

Soundwell Music Therapy Trust, the only specialist mental health music therapy charity in the country, is creating a new monthly group in Weston.

The charity supports people with mental health issues, experience with substance misuse or homelessness, and unpaid carers.

There will be two music therapists at the sessions, where people will be able to try new instruments.

People do not need to have experience with music to take part in the free sessions.

The first meeting will be on October 6, and the group will then meet on the first Friday of every month at St Saviour’s Hall in Locking Road.
