Experts are urging caution on dangerously icy roads across the district tonight (Thurs) and tomorrow.

Police are also warning motorists to leave their vehicles at home if at all possible and are advising pedestrians to wear sturdy footwear and stick to gritted roads.

Every fire station in Somerset has been open and available for response and community support.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service is advising people to carry an emergency pack in the car with water, a shovel, a blanket and boots and is asking people to check on elderly neighbours.
