A new youth club has been launched onboard a bus in Highbridge.

The Highbridge Youth Provision Network is the first of its kind in Sedgemoor and was set up last summer.

Its aims were to provide a community-based and co-ordinated approach
for supporting young people and giving them access to responsive activities.

The youth club received funding from Somerset County Council, Burnham and Highbridge Town Council, Homes in Sedgemoor, Liverty and the All Churches to support the Alpha Point bus.

The bus was secured by the All Churches group and features wi-fi and IT facilities.

Youth workers have been supplied by the YMCA and Somerset Rural Youth Project and the bus is now in full operation, running two evenings a week in central Highbridge.
