RESIDENTS turned out in force for a village’s first ever farmers’ market, set up by a local action group.
My Cheddar, run by village resident Mel Clinton, helped set up the new market, held in the Bath Arms Hotel in Bath Street.
A range of stalls, selling everything from meats and fish to cheese and ales, helped draw in a big crowd for the opening event.
Cheddar MP Tessa Munt also turned up to support the initiative.
The market joins other Somerset local produce events held in Axbridge and Burnham every month.
Mr Clinton said markets had boosted the economies of the neighbouring areas and hoped Cheddar could also benefit.
