North Somerset Council has apologised for missing rubbish collections on more than 50 Weston-super-Mare streets today (Friday).

Staff shortages have been blamed for the problems.

A North Somerset Council spokesman said: “We will be unable to collect recycling from a number of roads in Weston-super-Mare today due to staff shortages – if your road is missed, we’ll be collecting your recycling tomorrow.

“Apologies for any inconvenience.”
