Thousands of scale creations filled The Helicopter Museum for North Somerset Model Show this week, with displays ranging from Star Wars scenes to World War Two battles.

The event sees scale model societies from across the South West flock to Weston-super-Mare to show off their creations.

The museum’s marketing assistant Peter Michallat said: “With models ranging from Star Wars and superheroes to tanks and trains there really was something for everyone to enjoy.

“The show is always one of the our most popular days of the year and it’s quite a sight to see so many model exhibits against the unique backdrop of the world’s largest collection of helicopters.”

Children had the chance to make their own models at the event while experts worked on their projects in front of visitors.

The museum’s next big event will be a flight simulator convention and drone racing 
event on July 22-23. The event will begin at 10am each day.
